The Ipswich branch of Suffolk Archives will open at The Hold from the beginning of September 2021. This will include the John Blatchly Local Studies Library and the invigilated search-room. You can read the latest here
The Hold is on the University of Suffolk campus at 131 Fore Street, Ipswich, IP4 1LR.

In line with the Government’s gradual relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, and the changes introduced yesterday, we can confirm that the Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft branches of Suffolk Archives will reopen to the public in the week commencing 3 May. ...
The archive services at the Suffolk Archives Ipswich branch remain closed to the public as planned, until the full move into The Hold has been completed. The public areas of The Hold in Ipswich will also remain closed until 17 May 2021, in line with Government guidance.

All branches of Suffolk Archives (Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft) are closed until further notice. They will endeavour to maintain a telephone and email enquiry service during the closure period, but this will be kept under review and may be subject to change.
